Foundation is one of the most exciting sci-fi drama series I’ve watched on TV for a long time. If you’re bored of Star Wars - and all its many spin-offs - then check out Foundation. Based on the novels by Isaac Asimov, it tells the story of a galactic empire in crisis. Only it doesn’t fully understand the depth of its troubles.
Only one man does - Hari Seldon. An academic whose study of psychohistory has allowed him to predict future political developments. For that he’s exiled to the outer reaches of the empire, where his “Foundation” plots a universe without an empire.
No spoilers but my contention is that Hari Seldon himself has some major flaws. And wishing for the end of Empire may not be such a wise move. I certainly don’t find Seldon a morally superior character. He allies with people responsible for a massive terrorist attack that kills millions.
Watch my video and tell me what you think about Foundation!
