Rome’s first Christian emperor was Constantine and during he built an enormous statue of himself to be housed in a massive basilica, just off the Roman Forum. An earthquake toppled the basilica centuries later but fragments of the statue were subsequently recovered. They have been displayed for hundreds of years - a head, a foot, a bit of arm, etc.
