Betting your new book will be a real treat for all who follow you and/or Ripper history. Looking forward to its release, Tony.

You asked our thoughts on some points. Thought i'd throw some out there for fodder:

Who you think was Jack the Ripper? // Someone with heavy perceived influence above the law, or who could compromise London Yard without blow back. Perhaps even high ranking and inside the law system.

Do you agree that Jack the Ripper only murdered five women? // Methinks likely more than five. This type of blood lust doesn't typically vanish - as long as the murderer was still alive and in country.

What motivated this serial killer to attack women in such an appalling manner? // Deeply rooted psychopathic tendencies, probably linked to previous repeated or intense spurning by a female mother or lover figure. Hopefully, she wasn't both.

Have the Ripper victims been demeaned by prejudicial attitudes towards women in the past - and today? // Initially, i suspect there was likely shame and a unwarranted 'deservedness' aimed at these vicitis who were reportedly women of the night. Later, when gore became popularized in literature and media, their storys probably became a sort of side show for thrill seekers. Sadly, each victim has been very likely depersonalized over time.

Best from the US,

Chris
